One of the many, many, many reasons I love Zach...

I really think I am the luckiest girl in the world...

Zach went to the car wash yesterday and came home with a little surprise for me:

The caption read "T-minus 7 months till the greatest day ever and you're mine for good.  Oh I cant wait!!! - Zach

Really? What have I done to deserve this man?

Wedding Dresses!

So, the girls are coming into town Friday night (Mom, Monique, Jenn and Kari) and we are hittin' the bridal boutiques!  We have a very busy Saturday:  Appointments at 10AM, 12PM, 2PM and 4PM with a possible swing by to another location at 5:30PM!! Then Sunday we have 2 scheduled appointments and a few back ups in case we have extra time on our hands (yeah right).

Here is the itinerary... I know, I am a freak, but hey, if you want to hit 6 bridal shops in a day and a half, you have to HAVE A PLAN!!!

What a Fabulous Morning!

This morning Amanda and I met at the jobsite at the normal time, but instead of doing a run, or bust training, we walked up to starbucks, treated ourselves to a latte and walked our normal 3 mile loop.

It actually ended up being 3.2 miles since we walked all the way to the entrance of the Hilton (they were having a huge tented event that we were really curious about.)

Anyways, it was such a nice start to the day.  We just power-walked, and chatted, oh and of course we stopped to take a picture along Sea Port Village:

Have I mentioned how much I love having Amanda as a friend! What fun we will have and how fit we will be by the time this project ends in 2013!!!!

Mom and Dad come to San Diego!

This past weekend Mom and Dad and Holly came down to San Diego to visit.  They arrived on Thursday and we just hung out, drank a few beers and Zach made delicious fajitas!

I took the day off Friday, so we headed out nice and early to get some wedding stuff done! We headed over to Raphaels just to check out their rental prices... well this turned in to an hour long appointment with a florist there whom we later booked for my wedding! It was so random and, in my opinion, meant to be.  We had 2 other florist appointments later in the weekend of whom we were going to decide between, but Ana impressed us so much with her experience and prices, we couldn't pass it up.  Here is a link to her website: Floral Works and Events

Since we accomplished so much, we decided to head over to mine and Zachs jobsite to check it out!  Zach was working so it was fun to take Mom and Dad in the hole to see what both of us do all day!

Rebar, rebar, rebar!

After touring Mom and Dad around the jobsite, we headed home to meet up with Trevor and Lucinda for dinner.  Mom brought home made rollitini, salad and garlic bread, Y-U-M!  We ate, enjoyed each others company and played a few rounds of Cranium!

Saturday, Mom Dad and I took a walk over to Wholesale Flowers and Supplies, about a mile and a half from our place, just to see what they had in.  We didn't find much, but got some good ideas for reception decor for the wedding!  After that it was just about time for the Steelers game so we met up with Zach and Trevor and headed down to the High Dive to watch them win!!!

Sunday we had breakfast with the son of an old family friend who now lives in San Diego.  We went to the Old Townhouse Restaurant in Ocean Beach

then we took Holly to play in the sand, and of course couldn't help taking a few pictures of ourselves too!

After that we headed up to Encinitas to have lunch with Chris, Trevor and Libby.  Chris made delicious Chicken Salad sandwiches and coleslaw!  From there, Mom Dad and Holly headed home.

Such a fun, and productive weekend!

My First Race... REGISTERED

So, I signed up for my first race.  It is the Carlsbad 5000, apparently a pretty famous race.  Here is a link to the website: Carlsbad 5000.

Carlsbad 5000
Southern California’s favorite 5k celebrates its 26th birthday on April 3, 2011!
The Carlsbad 5000 features a fast and fun seaside course where 16 world records have been set. Both rookie runners and serious speedsters alike enjoy running or walking in one of seven people’s races. Celebrate after your race with two free beers at the Pizza Port/Imperial Cerveza Beer Garden! At high noon, witness the elite athletes vie for a lucrative prize purse and a new world record.
  • 16 World Records
  • Beer garden & refreshments
  • Fast & fun course
  • Weekend Health & Fitness Expo
  • Awards and merchandise 3 deep in all age divisions
  • Medals to top 250 finishers in each individual run
I will be in the Men and Women under 29 category racing at 11:30 AM.

I haven't officially decided on a goal time, but for right now I am looking at 27 minutes.  I think it is do-able since as it is right now I can pretty much run it in 30 minutes. Here is the course:

As an added bonus, Amanda will be running with me! She is doing what they call the all day 25K challenge which means she will run with each age group, in each race, running a total of 25K throughout the day.  Her last 5K of the day will be with me, then we will head over to the beer garden with our men and celebrate a first for both of us!

Thank you Amanda for pushing me to do this.  I am so excited!

5K

This morning Amanda, Soraya and I went out for our morning exercise.  We decided to do 3 miles before burst training.  Soraya and Amanda got ahead of me so I'm not exactly sure how fast I ran it, but Amanda said I was 3 minutes behind them which put me at 30 minutes for a 5K (3.1 miles).  It was tough, but I felt really good at the end of it.  I think I might be interested in running a 5K race... just to see if I like it.  Amanda, let's do it!

Trip to Julian

I have lived in San Diego for what... almost 8 years now and I have never been to Julian! I know, crazy.  Zach and I have been talking about going up to Julian for so long, and today, we finally did it!

Driving up to Julian
We got there a little early (the place we wanted to eat at wasn't open yet, so we just walked around a little bit...

Farmer Road... Really?

Creepy Old Cemetery

It was FREEZING!!!

Finally, the BBQ joint that we were smelling from a mile away opened and we went in, got warm, and got some delicious food...

After lunch, we had to stop by the "Julian Pie Shop" and get some of their famous pie.  It was AH-mazing, and totally worth the $15.00 we paid for two slices of pie!

The sign said "OPEN, Coffee's on and Pie is warm"
It was completely packed inside, so Zach and I went out back to enjoy our pie and coffee.  We had the whole place to ourselves (probably because it was 0 degrees) but we cuddled up and kept eachother warm.

OMG.  Amazing.

Yeah, I know, I take a ridiculous amount of pictures of us...

After pie, we just strolled down the street and wandered into a few shops.  It is such a cute little town!

On the drive back, we saw the coolest clouds in the sky.  It was really hard to get it on camera, but I tried...

It was a great trip.  Thanks for taking me babe.  Love you!
